Gandy is a strategically important and spirited coastal stretch on the shores of Tampa Bay. Named after the Gandy Bridge, this area serves as a vital link between the metropolitan regions of Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts who find optimal conditions here for jet skiing, fishing, and paddling. One of the most popular spots for beach activities in the immediate vicinity is Picnic Island Beach. Although technically located on the opposite side of the bay, it is closely associated with the Gandy region and provides expansive sandy areas, playgrounds, and a dog beach. The mangrove forests along the Gandy coastline are a crucial ecosystem, providing shelter for a wide variety of marine life and birds. The Gandy area is also known for its thriving gastronomy and craft brewery scene. Many restaurants offer waterfront decks where guests can end the day with fresh seafood and local craft beer. The sunsets over the bay are legendary, attracting photographers and romantics alike every evening. Access is extremely convenient thanks to Gandy Boulevard.
