Mersin International Port (Turkey)

Weather…

Mersin International Port (MIP) is one of the most significant deep-water ports in the Eastern Mediterranean and a central hub for global trade. Planned in the 1950s and officially completed in 1962, it was designed to connect Anatolia's industrial capacities with international markets. Spanning an area of approximately 112 hectares with 21 berths, it serves as the primary gateway for agricultural and industrial exports from Southern Turkey. In 2007, the port's operations were privatized for a 36-year period to a consortium of PSA International and Akfen Holding. The port features excellent multimodal connections to the national railway network and highways, making it a preferred logistics center for transit cargo to the Middle East and Central Asia. Millions of tons of freight and over two million TEUs of containers are handled here annually, cementing Mersin's role as one of the country's strongest economic engines.
