The Oyak Renault plant in Bursa is a major production center of the Turkish automotive industry, manufacturing vehicles for both the domestic market and export. It is a joint venture between the Turkish Oyak group and Renault, employing thousands of workers.
Visiting
The plant site is not open to the public as it is an active production facility. Occasionally, however, guided tours for registered groups are offered, providing insight into automobile manufacturing.
Where to view it
The best view of the expansive plant grounds is from the D200 bypass road, which runs along the northern boundary. From the hills south of Bursa, one can also overlook the entire industrial zone.
Local products
Vehicles cannot be purchased directly from the factory; sales are through authorized dealers. In Bursa, however, there are Renault dealerships offering current models produced locally.
Active season
Production runs year-round in two to three shifts, with peak times before new model launches. In the summer months, a factory shutdown is often scheduled for maintenance, briefly reducing activity.
