Ormos Korthiou, often simply called Korthi, is a deeply traditional coastal village situated in the southern part of Andros, one of the most verdant islands in the Greek Cyclades. Tucked inside a deep, wind-protected bay, this village has a peaceful, authentic Cycladic experience far removed from mass tourism. The architecture features classic whitewashed houses and a scenic pedestrian promenade that runs along the harbor. The coastline around Ormos Korthiou is spectacular, boasting some of the island's most iconic beaches. The most famous is undoubtedly Της γριας το πήδημα, easily recognizable by the massive stone column that emerges dramatically from the shallow waters just off the sandy shore. Another excellent local spot is the beautiful Βiντζι beach, located closer to the village center. Βiντζι provides a more organized setting, excellent for families and those wanting to enjoy a swim with nearby amenities. Beyond its beaches, Ormos Korthiou is a haven for hikers, with ancient stone-paved paths leading up to historic monasteries and ruined castles in the surrounding hills. The village's waterfront tavernas are renowned for serving traditional Andriot specialties, including the famous 'froutalia' omelet.
