Weather…

The Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve, located in Governor's Harbour on Eleuthera, is the island's first national park and a premier center for the conservation of local flora. Established in 2011 by Shelby White in memory of her late husband Leon Levy, the preserve covers 25 acres (10 hectares). It serves as a living museum for Bahamian native plant species, many of which have significant medicinal value. Visitors can wander along well-maintained trails that lead through various ecosystems, including coastal coppice and wetlands. Over 300 species of plants, including many endemics, are protected and studied within the grounds. A highlight of the preserve is the Medicinal Plant Garden, which chronicles traditional Bahamian bush medicine. The site also functions as a research station and educational hub, raising awareness about biodiversity and the importance of preserving the natural heritage of the Bahamas.
